About

Finally! A product that drives rooting and burrowing animals out! And it’s safe to use around your home, lawn and gardens. Yard Gard™ gets rid of pests without killing them. That’s right. No poisons and no chemicals to worry about.

Yard Gard™ consists of two main parts: The active ingredients and the pellet itself. The pellet encases the active ingredients in a very hard shell. This shell prevents inadvertent contact with the active ingredients.

When Yard Gard™ is applied as directed, moisture from the soil causes the pellet to dissolve. As the pellets dissolve, they release millions of particles of the active ingredient into the surrounding soil. These particles are not water soluble and become lodged between the grains of soil. These residual particles form a barrier that no rodent will enter. The active ingredients cause immediate, severe irritation to the eyes, nose, mouth and mucous membranes of any burrowing animal that comes into contact with them. Extensive testing showed that these types of animals would not go near food treated with Yard Gard™.

Many burrowing animals have diminished eyesight and therefore rely heavily on their senses of smell and taste for survival. These enhanced olfactory senses make them even more susceptible to the effects of Yard Gard™. If an animal comes in contact with Yard Gard™, a level of pain is developed that cannot be ignored. There is no permanent damage to the animal, but they will definitely find somewhere else to live and eat. It is literally far too painful for them to remain in the area.

See how effective Yard Gard is by looking at the armadillo activity chart below:

The Armadillos’ foraging activity decreases dramatically after the first 7 days following application. This graph shows research conducted on over 30 yards with Yard Gard applied.
The number of rooting/dig marks is recorded on the left side of the chart. Watering the treated area causes the key ingredients to migrate through the soil over time, providing protection for your lawn.
Time is recorded on the bottom portion of the graph, with the number of days progressing from left to right, showing the duration of lawn protection.
